Obišao sam pre par dana Royal Automobile Museum u Amanu.

Šta da kažem... Izuzetan doživljaj! Pokojni kralj Husein je bio pasionirani ljubitelj automobila, učestvovao je i u trkama, te je njegov sin a sadašnji kralj Abdula po očevoj smrti 1999. godine odlučio da izuzetnu zbirku dvotočkaša i četvorotočkaša preseli u muzej.

Sam muzej se nalazi na vrhu velikog King Hussein parka u severozapadnom delu grada; zgrada spolja ne izgleda naročito impresivno, ali zato krije veoma dobro održavanu, raznoliku i bogatu zbirku. Od preko 200 automobila i motocikala izloženo je otprilike nešto preko sto, i postavka se povremeno menja. Pojedini automobili su pravi biseri kolekcije, a nekoliko od najzanimljivijih nisu bili deo postavke u vreme moje posete. Jedno je sigurno: eksponati izgledaju kao da su juče izašli iz fabrike. Vidi se da se u muzej ulaže puno ljubavi i para.

Radno vreme muzeja je svakog dana osim utorkom od 10 do 19h; stranci plaćaju ulaz 3 jordanska dinara (3 EUR). Fotografisanje dozvoljeno, dodirivanje eksponata ne. Internet adresa muzejskog weba: www.royalautomobilemuseum.jo (http://www.royalautomobilemuseum.jo)

Dodatne zanimljivosti: ispred muzeja se nalazi izložen De Havilland Dove, omiljeni službeni avion kralja Huseina kojim je često sam upravljao.
Muzej ima i solidno popunjenu prodavnicu; ja sam se počastio jednim die-cast T-34/76 Mod.1942 (264. oklopna brigada, Ukrajina 1943.) od Dragon Armor, u razmeri 1:72 :) Cena: 9 EUR.

Preporuka: obavezno posetiti muzej.

Disclaimer: nisam fotografisao sve izložene eksponate. Fotografisao sam bez blica, digitalnim aparatom "idiotom", bez tripoda, pa je poneka fotografija pomalo mutna. Niko nije savršen... Uh sto je ruzan onaj aston martin!!! Taman sam hteo da kazem kakav je to seik kad nema porse 911 a onda sam ga video iza kobre, istina tip 993, al porse je porse :)

Ma ima Poršea bar jedno 3-4 komada raznih, ali mi oni nisu bili naročito zanimljivi za fotografisanje, mogu manje-više svi da se vide i na ulici.
Inače, Jordan nema naftne izvore, a nekih 15% stanovništva živi ispod granice siromaštva (i ko zna koliko još veoma blizu istoj) ali eto, kad si kralj izgleda da sve brige prestaju ;)
Ima i još nekih 5-6 Mercedesa koje nisam fotografisao; kralj Husein je od svih automobila najviše cenio Mercedese :)
