Saurer RK-7

 Good afternoon my friends
here's an old multimedia kit from my panzer collection in 1/35. It's from Armour Accessories and it was a very limited production kit (just 2000 kits). As a multimedia kit they were many resin parts and a lot of white metal parts too. Now it's almost impossible to find this kit (Armour Accessories' kit I mean).
Saurer RK-7 was based on a pre-war Austrian vehicle and it was designed to elaborate the two systems driving - by tracks or by wheels. Driving by wheels gave a superior velocity (about 80Km/h meanwhile by tracks gave an all-terrain capacity). But it was impossible to driving by both systems !!!
First Saurers saw action during Poland invasion but hundreds of them were been used during Operation Barbarossa and some in D.A.K. service. Normally they were been used like radio communication vehicle but due the light armor finally it was been used like anti partisan radio communication vehicle. Many of them were retired in France + Yugoslavia + Poland territories for organize the light anti partisan squadrons.

Division's marks  + D.A.K. signs were painted by airbrush with the help of home made masks  :)  Now I am waiting Karaya's radio antenna's wire...

Wow, just where do you find them. :)
This is very unusual vehicle. I never saw it before. It looks like an insect with those antennas on the front side. :)
Great work (as usual ;) ). How did you paint the tires? They look very good.

P.S. I like the way you ordered the photos so the second row matches the third one. Nice 8)

Thank you my friend  ;)  Yes with the width drivers looks like a bug  ;D ;D  About tires; On this model I didn't want dusted wheels due the North Africa front so first I paint them by mat black or Testor's tires black (if you can find it anymore  :'( ); Then I make a drybrush using white + light grey oils.
Now with the new products on the market I use a different "way"....first I paint the "result" I want :
1. Tamiya's Buff = for dusted tires
2. Light grey = for normal tires
and then I apply Shoot from Tamiya's cassette.
An other way only for dusted tires is next :
First I paint all tire by Gunze's Shoot or any other mat black; Next I spray again all tire by Tamiya's Buff....When everything is dry I wet a ear stick (those for cleaning the ears) with Ajax (the liquid for cleaning the windows) and start passing around the tire. Thanks to Ajax Buff start disappear or make a transparent film and you can see the first "black' color.

Thank you for the info. I see the results are pretty good. I finished painting tires on M3A1 Scout car in 1/35 so I'm looking for a good method to make them dirty :D . Right now, the very similar medico's easy method is very good and "available" since I don't have Tamiya colors. Maybe I'll make a combination of these two methods. ;)
